A Day in London

What better way to see the sights of London than from the top deck of a famous red, double decker bus. Only in London would you stop at the lights and have the Queen's Guards on horseback crossing the road in a very regal manner. Feeling a little peckish we hopped off at Bank, walked down past The Monument and took a stroll along the River Thames, stopping for a photo op with London Bridge in the background. Recalling memories of past treats on offer at Broughton Market, we crossed the Millennium Bridge, passed Shakepeare's Globe Theatre and were welcomed with the delightful aromas of the market. Our purchases included 3 punnets of fresh, juicy raspberries and strawberries costing only 2 pound 50p. We then dined on Seafood Paella, succulent Scallops accompanied by British brewed Apple Cider, finishing with some delightful Turkish Delight (mint, rosewater, pistachio, strawberry and pine-sap flavours). Delicious!!! A visit to the spectacular St Paul's Cathedral seemed fitting after our feast. We finished our afternoon with a bus trip home via Piccadilly Circus, stopping off for a shopping adventure down Oxford St.

  1. Ooh a shopping adventure sounds exciting. So have you run into anyone you know yet? Wouldn't surprise me Charlie! Sounds like the holiday is off to a nice start!
