What an unusual
welcome to Italy! We pulled into a service station/café for a toilet and drink
stop. I pointed out a rather large dog sitting in the café and commented on the
questionable work place health and safety practices of the establishment, in
allowing this to occur. Shortly after, the owner takes the dog by the leash and
heads in my direction to leave. As
if on cue, the dog starts excreting large masses of excrement on the floor by
the counter. The aroma was intoxicating so I started to gag and dry reach. This
drew some unwanted attention in my direction so I had to escape. Certainly not
how I intended my passage into Italy to commence!!
